The Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regional will have a face to face meeting at ACE for all of our members on Friday, August 6th from 1-2 pm in the lunch area.  Please see the bulletin board to identify exact location for the lunch.  This will be a great opportunity to meet our members as well as answer any questions that you might have!

Dear Members,  

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some exciting news on the results of your voting for the Northeast/MidAtlantic merger.  It was a majority vote that the following states would move forward with the merger:   Pennsylvania New Jersey Maryland West Virginia Maine Vermont New Hampshire Massachusetts Rhode Island Connecticut Delaware  

What does this mean for you?  This means we will now be called the Northeast/MidAtlantic Regional and will be able to take advantage of the synergies of each of the above regions!  This will mean new opportunities for all of our members and will also mean that we can eliminate redundancies and focus on the “big picture!!”  

What are our next steps?  The leadership team from the above states agrees that our next steps should include the following:  

• We will be merging the two websites together:  www.ov-ahdi.com and http://pa-ahdi.org/blog/.  We will keep you posted on the new site.
• We will be merging the facebook pages together.
• In talking with all of the above states, it was determined that the two main initiatives that we will continue with for the rest of this year are credentialing and membership.  If you would like to be involved in either committee, please email us!  This is the time to step up and be a part of a committee rather than owning the entire committee!!!  After ACE, these two committees will be meeting to determine next steps so that we can make an impact in our region!

What is the interim plan for our officers?  There are many discussions on the BGG at present with the structure of AHDI.  With these discussions pending, we feel it is in our best interest to hold off on elections until a decision is made on the BGG.  For example, if we do move forward with the BGG structure, this would not begin before January 1st, and we felt it was more important to only have to do elections one time.  Thus, we will wait until we learn if and when the BGG structure would begin.  Therefore, we will remain with the current board:   Patty Barrett – President
Judy Lichtenburger – Delegate
Kathy Lengel – Vice President
Mary Sanders – Treasurer
Aileen Burnett – Secretary  

Once again, this is only an interim plan as we are truly committed to interstate officers.  We will continue to keep you posted on the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regional News!!  Please let us know which committee, credentialing or membership you would like to be a part of, and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
